Welcome!

Thank you for checking out my page! I’m Barb. I grew up in Walkerton, IN. and graduated from John Glenn High School. I moved to South Bend as a young adult, but when I was almost thirty, I moved to Eastern Kentucky.

I spent over sixteen years going to college, raising my three children and working for a non-profit mental health agency as a social worker and an advocate for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. I assisted survivors through the process of obtaining a protection order, finding housing and then stood by them in court.

During this time, I became strong enough to leave my abusive husband which then empowered me to pursue my master’s degree at the University of Kentucky. Upon graduating I became a therapist for a local high school assisting boys that struggle with behaviors. After four years I felt it was time to come back home.

My Mission…

I feel it is a passion of mine to empower individuals dealing with domestic violence/sexual assault, however, I love working with children as well. I believe everyone has experienced some form of trauma in their life and I want to be there to help pick up the pieces and empower those to live their best life.

I believe that true Love does not hurt.
