Hello!

My name is Terri Rumfelt and I’m a licensed social worker. I realize that everyone has a story that explains their life choices and understanding that story makes treatment easier. Thanks so much for taking the time to get to know me. I look forward to helping you discover your best self.

My education began with a degree in psychology from Indiana University, then a master’s degree in social work from Simmons University in Boston. I started working in the social work field after graduating from IU in 2000 and have spent most of the last 23 years working for agencies that were contracted by the Department of Child Services (DCS). The families and individuals I assisted were from diverse backgrounds and had many different issues from depression and anxiety to addictions and trauma. My specialties include posttraumatic stress disorder and addictions issues.

I spend much of my time in therapy working on present symptoms and how they affect current and everyday life and concentrating on the past as much or as little as you need. My idea of counseling is the fact that you are the expert on you and I will walk alongside you during your healing journey. I make suggestions on treatment and interventions and will have you involved as much as possible in developing your own plan to healing.

My Mission…

As a therapist, I like to create a relaxed, encouraging environment. I focus on current strengths and on building new ones to assist in the many struggles life can throw at us. I understand we all have struggles and I will always assist you in a non-judging manner.

We will collaboratively design a plan that accomplishes your desired goals.
